Pair of vintage Tremar Pottery coffee mugs

A pair of stylish, vintage mugs made by Tremar Pottery, Cornwall, with low handles and with a band of stamped decoration in brown around the base. The mugs have the light fawn, matt glaze, common to many Tremar pieces and are both impressed with the 'Tremar' stamp in the base.
Tremar Pottery, Liskeard, Cornwall (1962-1983) was started by Roger and Doreen Birkett, who ran it up until 1980 (it closed three years later). Most of their pieces have a distinct style of decoration and smooth matt glaze, but they also produced very collectible, small figures of animals and people.
