English majolica comport (possibly Wedgwood) in strawberry and vine design
A majolica comport or cakestand, moulded with vine leaves, grapes and strawberries, strawberry flowers and leaves on the plate and stem. All glazed in a glossy deep green. Unmarked, but possibly Wedgwood. This is a known design of late-Victorian and early-20th century majolica, it appears in a wide range of colour combinations, and these designs have enduring popularity and continued to be made into the 20th century.
Minor glazing flaws from the production process, but these do not detract from the overall apperance and appeal of the piece.
