Sheldon Pottery green, pomander, bud vase
A striking, spherical terracotta pot, glazed in two shades of green, hand-painted with stylised leaves or grasses, and pierced with circular and triangular holes around the rim. Perfect as a pourri holder, bud vase, or simply a beautiful piece of pottery to display.
It is inscribed on base, 'Sheldon Pottery'.
Sheldon Pottery was established in 1973 at Clevedon, Bristol, UK, by brothers, John & David Bishop. They reputedly, both did their training at the Fishley Holland Pottery; another studio pottery that had been running on Clevedon since the early 1920s, and produced pieces of a similar style.
