A stylish white glazed earthenware milk jug and matching sugar pot by Figgjo, Norway. The transfer print 'Tor Viking' design of stylised 1970s flowers in mid-blue, green and turquoise was designed by the renowned artist and designer Turid “Turi” Gramstad Oliver. The backstamp 'F/F FIGGJO FLINT - NORWAY' is printed on the bases.
Turi Gramstad Oliver worked as a designer for Figgjo from 1960 to 1980, she was responsible for a major change of decorative style at the company, with it becoming known as 'Turi-Design'. Her decorative motifs epitomise the 1960s and 1970s colourful Nordic aesthetic and were used on many different shapes by Figgjo.
